During a student’s time in detention, they are often more open and motivated to discuss their need to make serious behavioral changes and to re-evaluate their need for a personal relationship with God. Our staff & volunteers begin a relationship while the student is incarcerated, sharing God’s unrelenting message of hope and love, as exemplified in Jeremiah 29:11-14.

Contact includes completing student intake interviews, leading small group bible studies, and also assisting with personal and family issues. This time with the students affords our staff ample opportunities to invite interested students to consider participation in the JAMS program where more extended help can be offered.
